About Us

KhoiNation is a registered non-profit company (NPC) based in the Western Cape, committed to serving communities across the region. We cannot stand by while our people face unemployment, hunger, and homelessness. As an organisation founded by the people, for the people, our mission is to bring meaningful support and lasting change to those in need.

At KhoiNation, we are working to build a future where every child, young person, and adult has the opportunity to live with dignity and sustainability. We believe that the homeless, the unemployed, the poor, and all those affected by hardship - including the impact of COVID-19 - deserve compassion and care. Sometimes, even the smallest gesture can have a significant impact: a slice of bread, a cup of soup, a toy, a pair of shoes, a warm blanket, or a piece of fruit can restore hope.

Our team is made up of dedicated, kind-hearted individuals who give not for reward, but out of love and commitment. We receive no salaries - instead, we give from our own homes and hearts to support the most vulnerable among us. But we cannot do this alone. We need your help to continue this important work.

For over 30 years, various Khoi and San groups have fought for recognition of our people. We are the KhoiSan - the Bushmen, the Strandlopers - the original custodians of this land. As an Aboriginal people, we are sovereign, and we must rise to reclaim our rightful place in society.

In 2019, a significant milestone was achieved when President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the Traditional and Khoi-San Leadership Act (TKL), formally recognising our people and our leadership structures.
